Funeral doom without keys. Just a smidge of death doom. Very calm. The last track would have benefited from a slower tempo or an additional riff. Still, very cool.
Favorite track: Dissolution of the Threefold Self (I).

Melancholic, raw, and dark funeral doom with shades of death metal. Just enough intensity though to keep you interested. Looking forward to more releases and physical releases.

Overwhelmingly epic! What won me over was the serious WORSHIP (Germany) vibes this album gave me. The monumental sound, the heaviest and darkest of atmospheres... it really gets a ahold of you like nothing else does. This is one incredible experience! uittobi
Utterly indescribable new record from Greek metal band Locust Leaves features corkscrewing tempos, manic vocal shifts & dense arrangements. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 6, 2017
The duo of Nicholas Thornbury (Vattnet Viskar) and Brett Boland (Astronoid) make heady, dystopian death metal that sounds as catchy as it is scorched. Bandcamp Album of the Day May 12, 2021

Often when bands reach a certain level of heaviness they become unpleasant to listen to: too much dissonance or unrelenting blastbeats, or headache-inducing compression. Not this band. Fossilization play music that is extremely fucking heavy but never becomes unmusical. I love the way they temper death metal with doom. They know how to slow things down and let the music breathe. dharmalogos
